Baaa!
My family and I did go to Lambtown after all. When we got there, we wandered around a bit and looked at a few sheep (I love when they bleat--its such a funny sound) before heading into the Fiber Fair area. My sister, who refuses to take up knitting, actually bought some stuff there! She got interested in needle felting, so she got a kit and some wool to start out. I bought some spinning stuff--a "variety pack" of merino and merino blends (1 ounce each of five different shades of purple) from The Dizzy Ewe (no website); a niddy noddy and a mid-whorl drop spindle (both by Magpie WoodWorks) from Carolina Homespun; and some Bluefaced Leicester from Chameleon Colorworks. (Random side note: Blue Lace Fiesta is sort of a play on Bluefaced Leicester.)
Last weekend, I went to Stash's bag sale. I saw a few things I liked, but I decided I had spent a bit already between Skein Lane's closing sale and Lambtown, so I only bought one ball of Rowan Felted Tweed in watery (sadly, not on sale), which will be for my next pair of Knucks. I really want to cast on for these, but I'm trying to restrain myself, until I make a bit more progress on what I'm currently knitting. (My two scarves don't seem to be going anywhere, although my Embossed Leaves Socks are coming along nicely--I'm about to pick up the gusset stitches on the first sock.) I will almost certainly cave in and start something new on my birthday, as a sort of present to myself.
And...only one month until the Yarn Harlot comes to California! I'm so excited! (I must better prepare my mom...I don't think she realizes how many knitters will be there.)
